Smith & Wesson Model 65 Review
Просмотров 5 тыс.10 месяцев назад
The Smith & Wesson model 65 are highly sought after revolvers and for good reason - S&W simply doesn't make this quality of the 3 inch barrel revolver anymore which means if you own one, you made a good investment. But beyond holding value, these revolvers, especially the 65-5 Ladysmith reviewed in this video are excellent carry and defense guns as well and we explain why here..

The Beretta PX4 Storm has been out for nearly two decades now and continues to have somewhat of a cult following around the pistol from people who still love it and shoot it actively to this day. Not only does it have a low recoil system, but the decocker / manual safety system still provides a great alternative to many who increasingly fear carrying a handgun safely with a round in the chamber...

Henry 45-70 Lever Action Side Gate Review II (Accuracy Update)
10mm for men 9mm 4 youngsters
Mine likes the 180 grain Federal power shock hunting load.
I think a lot of right handed shooters assume we lefties NEED an ambi safety on a 1911. We really don’t. It’s a nice bonus when it’s there, but we’ve been adapting to things designed for right handed people our entire lives. The traditional 1911 is no different. I chose the Garrison. The lack of an ambi safety really didn’t factor into it.
Let me just say this , if you’re carrying a G21 filled with Speer Gold Dot 200 gr +P you are extremely well armed .
These are far from clones. They are more like 55 Chevys with ls1 engines and modern brakes and transmissions.
love my px4. I enjoy the fact that most people don't know what this gun is, but the other side of that is the aftermarket is poor. One thing I didn't like about the storm are the grips, but some talon grips fixed that issue
KIMBER SUCKS. KIMBER AMERICA SUCKS. KIMBER CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS.
I own the g41 with XS big dot. Don't even need an optic. Shoot it better than my USP 45.
Very good review and thanks for sharing. I have a 686 and Ruger GP100 both in 6" and K6S Target...4" barrel. The thing that stands out the most is the trigger! From factory my K6S Target pulls 8lbs average. My smith and Ruger wont even come close. At around 600 rounds through it (about 110 rounds in 357) not a single light primer strike. The only thing I would change is the barrel length. I hope they make a 6" barrel length. Great quality revolver.
I was absolutely blown away by the K6S I handled in the LGS. Going from an SP101 to a J frame to the K6S was night and day.
Have you had any issues with extracting issues? I've heard that it struggles sometimes because it uses the same legnth rod as the 2 inch version
Great video!
Not having manual safety is very bad and dangerous for the user
The worst pistol I have ever owned. Magazines drop out, misfires galore, sent in once already, will be sending it back AGAIN!
You left out the category of DA/SA hammer fired with decocker, with or without safety.
Awesome review!
Is it made by Ciener or Kimber themselves? :)
Model 10 wasn’t made in 1899 , but I get what you’re saying
Oh, the gun has a stainless steel barrel and a stainless steel cylinder and an aluminum alloy frame have to read the manual to get this information.
I'm a new owner
It’s 14.4 ounces on a postal scale. The Houge grip has a spongey back strap that absorbs felt recoil. A good grip style will reduce muzzle flip. Reducing the strength of the mainspring also helps a lot After making these changes the gun is very pleasurable to shoot. Keep in mind that you need to practice with this gun a very very lot to become efficient with at all distances. The 3,3,3 rule does not work most of the time. In my area the news reports shootings almost everyday. The police place markers next to every spent case and I have counted 9 spent cases most of the time. All 9mm. Distances between groups of spent cases was across 50 - 60 foot wide streets. Very few shootings were belly to belly. This makes me think about the 3-3-3 speculation. Therefore you need to practice for every conceivable distance snd the. 442 is accurate enough for those 25 yard shots. Just have to practice with it. I put 7 rounds into a one inch group at 10 yards. That is less than a two and a half group at 25 yards. So this gun is an accurate shooter. Lastly 38 Specials were designed to shoot 158 grain bullets, the twist rate of the rifleling was specifically designed for the weight and length of the 158 grain bullet. Smith has now come out with a snuby design that shoots 125 grain bullets more accurately. Just thought I would mention some things you missed, it’s s great shooter at any distance. Just takes practice.
Get a red dot.
Love my Glocks period.
I prefer the FN FNX .45. 15 rounds of .45 auto. I dislke DA/SA, but the FNX can be carried ajd used cocked and locked like rhr 1911. Thr SA has a lot of slop but fairly light and the let off is nowhere as nice a s tuned 1911, but its livable. And much better than the Glock 21. Thr FNX has been very reliable for me without any failures to fire or any other malfunctions. It takes a Streamlight TLR-1 1,000 lumen light with the Picatinny rail, unlike the Glock.
If you have the Glock 17 Gen 4 you don't need a Gen 5. Not any significant changes to justify a new purchase in my opinion. Been a collector of firearms since 1983 and why it's in my collection. Most that I buy I don't shoot they are NIB.
Can you please not take long pauses while you swallow your spit and then smack your lips before you start talking again? If you can't learn how to take a swallow without everyone knowing about it, then stop fucking making videos. God damn this is annoying
Just changes mine. Why would you want to be hex wrench dependable?
AZ Trigger, I don't normally give accolades for those who managed to share their knowledge on different types of ammunitions, but you really did an exceptional job of doing your homework! Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback - much appreciated!
Thanks for the insight. Maybe just simpler to to buy a compact 1911 in 9mm with a double column magazine. For now I will stay with the glock and will be switching over eventually to a SA/DA guns of some sort when I find one below $1,000 with features that I like.
I had a Remington made 336 30-30 the finish was horrible. Cheap wood stock forearm felt loose outta the box. Ended up selling it. I just bought a Ruger made marlin SBL 45-70 and its way better. I can tell Ruger has way better quality control than Remington
Check out defender tactical for the light option
Having great difficulty releasing the slide. You mentioned extended slide releases. Would this help? And how are they installed?
GREAT handgun, just got mine from Turners here in CA. (9mm). 300 bucks after Mail in Rebate. NOT BAD AT ALL. Fathers day special.
I had the Gen3 once. It failed to feed properly twice at a 150 round range session. I got rid of it because of that. 🤷 😕

Proper grip and trigger discipline may prevent that...
I'm sure that isn't the first gun he shot.
Gen 3 is best gen.
Other pistols may be better looking, lighter, have a better trigger, better sights, better placements of buttons and levers, but the PX4 still is one of the best, easier shooters out there - and it's cheaper!
Looks a lot like the fusion firearms reaction series I like those a lot
It’s definitely among the greatest handguns ever made, and its longevity in production and use are an obvious testament to that. Of course, I own one. However, just my personal opinion, but ergonomically, I consider the Browning Hi-Power a better design overall. I have a lot of company; the Hi-Power is the most widely used military sidearm in history, in terms of the number of countries that adopted it for military and/or police issue weapons (around 90). In that respect, the M1911 doesn’t even come close. Still, the M1911, in terms of the number of units built, remains one of the most heavily produced if not the most heavily produced semiautomatic handguns in history. Although it wasn’t adopted by very many organizations outside of the US, its extreme popularity among American shooters has kept numerous manufacturers quite busy to this day and will continue to do so for years to come. If the AR-15 is “America’s rifle”, then the M1911 is “America’s handgun”, though while the AR-15 is appreciated by many outside of our shores, for whatever reason, the M1911 is not so appealing to those in other countries. Perhaps it is lack of capacity, weight, mechanical complexity compared with later designs, I dunno, but the M1911 seems to be a firearm made mostly for Americans. And Filipinos; I know they make and love the M1911 too. The Philippines is the only other country I can think of where people also love the M1911.
I carried one as a police officer and I used 38 special +P hollow points. Great reliability and never failed. Agree with the summary at the end regarding recommendations on usage. Great review. 👍
Can u get a forgrip on it?
I just traded my Sig 1911 10 mm in for the high capacity of the P320-x10. Hope I did the right thing. (I haven't shot it yet)
The only Sig P320's with zero of these problems are the military ones. I am looking to install the safety soon. Having a safety lever even makes it more reminiscent of the classic Sig P22X series anyway
The mag design of this gun is the best of all 22LR semi autos. 14.5 oz with 17 rounds, cant be beat
For you fellas, who like the less blocky aspect of the gen 5s, you should try firing without makeup and eyelashes.
If you handload, check the Speer #14 load manual. It shows a top load of Alliant Power Pistol for a 158 grain bullet (I load swc) giving 950 fps from a 6" barrel - standard pressure load. So maybe 900 fps for a 4" - which is still a great load - talk about penetration and will cut a straight path with the SWC bullets which is why I like them. And get ahold of a post war - pre model 10 and check the action.
Buy the stoner then upgrade the barrel and you’ll be better off than all 3
My Glock 30sf is better
Sold mine after 4 trips back to Florida cause kept jamming with many brands of Ammo .... MB .
Both of mine are great ...
Glocks do not be innovative because they are "perfected".... BUY and support American made guns! I luv my LCP MAX 380
I take exception to the .38 Smith & Wesson cartridge being called out as too weak to be effective for modern day law enforcement, most especially the British .38/200 LRN. I own a series of Enfield, Webley, Colt Police Positive Special, and Colt Police Positive Revolvers. I use some good hand loaded 200gr. LRN in.38 S&W shell casings. Even the current factory made 145gr. LRN ammo will work nicely in the post-war made Colt Police Positive Special, that was chambered in .38 S&W. This was a large contract order from the Royal Hong Kong PD going to Colt Manufacturing for a large number of these compact Colt PPS six-guns in the late 1950's, into the 1960's. The pre-war produce Colt Police Positive (not Special) Revolvers sold widely and sold well, chambered in .38 S&W. In pre-WW 2 times, the .38 Police Positive was standard issue with uniform policemen. In those years (1910-1940), the Smith & Wesson small frame revolvers and the Colt PP, was carried by thousands of uniform cops, primarily in the north-east and west coast PD's. For over 4-decades this cartridge was used by US law enforcement, South American PD's, with the same cartridge in a 200gr. bullet being used by our British Allies during and after WW 2. The break-top Enfield No.2Mk I* and Webley Mk IV Revolvers of the British, would last way into the 1970's, with some of these revolvers lasting way into the 1980's in former British Colonies with their respective Home Defense Forces. Some may even be around and being used today.
